It's name is Spider! (it/any/all) It's clingy and kinda awkward, but it's overall sweet and means well :] He's not rlly based off any specific type of spider, just an amalgamation of sorts of spider/bug features I like ^^

I was chatting with a pal about this a while back, but it is somewhat of a shame that the Web is so underutilized in TMA for its non-plot-related horror (having as many episodes as The Dark, an entity that we know Jonny doesn't particularly care to write about) because having a mind controlling manipulative entity that can so easily play off of the Stranger and the Spiral is so much fun, however it's really awkward to try and integrate it because its inexplicably got spiders as its defining thing—which isn't bad inherently bad per se, though it is kinda tricky trying to write something and then going "and then there were SPIDERS!!!!"

#sp-rambles #Genuinely you could absolve spiders into being the Corruption and tbh it'd probably be a better move #Spiders are immediately recognizable as the Web and for an entity all about controlling things from the shadows it's #a bit hard to do that when any spider iconography is basically an air raid siren that EEEEYUP!! IT'S WEB SHIT!!!!#I dunno. The Web obviously is the big baddie but it doesn't really feel until S4 when it's cemented as such #and this it really kinda lacks the foundation that makes it actually feel like something manipulating from the shadows #Again it's hard to be that mean to the show when a good portion was being written week to week #But also like. idk. even on a first listen I had issues with the Web plotline in late S5 #Primarily my issues are how underutilized it could've been. S4's centeal theme was about the bluring of lines #The blur of the Stranger and Spiral or of the Hunt and Flesh. Why not go full Weird and have Martin be a bit Web along with Lonely?#It's so goofy relistening and picking up on the extremely obvious Web!Martin stuff back when they were planning that #and then. yeah. never really followed through with #I dunno. The Web is such fertile territory for that specific type of psychological horror this show does with the Spiral that I love #It's a shame it's held back because everything related to it has to be SPIDERS!!!! #listen I had a ton of disjointed ideas hit me like a truck though #it’s set during their senior year at their uppity Gotham prep school #it’s got vague Spider-Man movie vibes #something something they’re meeting with guidance counselors and oh shoot oh crap they have to think about their real people futures but #all they’ve been thinking about is their futures as vigilantes maybe #the point being that one is not important than the other they can and should do good with BOTH identities #that’s not the main plot though just a background thing #there’s a scene where they’re talking on the phone while gaming together and you can clearly see that their gamer tags are ‘Nightwing’ and #’Oracle’#main plot is fighting crime in some capacity but I can’t decide on a villain. I’d like to say riddler because he’s my favorite but I don’t #think he fits. I dunno yet #maybe Batman is dealing with a Big Threat and there’s a slightly smaller threat that he can’t take care of at the same time so he lets Dick #and Babs take care of it. it’s like their first real solo gig in Gotham (not counting Dick’s Teen Titans gigs)#it’s kind of like a buddy-cop detective thing. okay maybe I’m talking myself back around on it being Riddler #no teen titans however it is clearly shown that Dick is stuck in an group chat with them that is blowing up for the entire movie #something something childhood best friends to lovers plot where both people are suddenly aware that the status quo of their lives and #relationship is about to change due to the passage of time and they both suddenly realize how much they like each other and how much #they’re going to miss this part of their lives #obligatory scene where they’re singing (badly) in the car (probably to Taylor Swift because Dick Grayson is 100% a Swiftie) and Babs #looks over at him and you can see this sudden change come over her face that clearly translates to ‘oh NO I LIKE HIM’#dick has a similar moment at some point #my initial thought is that Babs gets shot in this story but I think I’d save that for the sequel—I think you need to see her time as #Batgirl for that to really hit #so sequel picks up several years later when they’re adults. no clue on plot but most importantly Dick is now Nightwing (not sure whether to #put him in Bludhaven though. it might be a little much) and Babs gets shot at the very latest 20 minutes into the movie #Dick isn’t with her but he’s on the phone with her at the time and they’re just chatting while fighting crime in different places and then #it happens and he hears it #(obviously not going the Killing Joke route here but I love the Oracle plotline. I’m not even sure that in this case it’s a targeted act it #might just be something that happens to Babs in the line of duty with life-altering consequences)#the rest of the movie involves them dealing with the fallout and Babs becoming Oracle and developing new skills

I haven't really felt like myself since the spider bite, ugh. Hard to tell whether my fixation on beauyasha chose my extremely lengthy recovery to die out or whether I'm still feeling some effects of the bite that are making things hard. I'm gonna say that since it's really hard to focus much that it's probably closer to the second one. I write to process emotions and I haven't been able to lock on to anything I'm feeling for a while, let alone translate it to the page via fictional characters.
