Easter parade
On Sunday morning, just as the sun cleared the trees to the east of us, it trained its spotlight on this group of does cruising the edge of our woodlot.
In recent weeks the deer out here have been especially active in early morning. The bucks are growing back their antlers while recovering from the rigors of winter and the stress of the mating season. The doe are bulking up, preparing for next month’s fawning.
I counted seven in this group, which I considered to be a lucky sign.
