1. the prickly phase absolutely sucks and is by far the worst part of growing a bush, but there are things you can do to lessen the discomfort:

do not wear panties that have the seam on your bikini line. the friction can cause ingrown hairs, razor bumps, acne, or even cysts.

choose underwear that gives this area room to breathe (do this anyway for vaginal health). boy shorts, boxer briefs, actual boxers, etc. if possible, forgo the underwear entirely, especially at night when you don't have to worry about it. i seriously cannot stress this one enough.

gently exfoliate the area daily to prevent ingrowns. you can use anything textured to do this, but make sure you go in the direction of the hair so you don't irritate the follicles or surrounding skin.

one thing that saved my life when i was growing my bush out was anti-itch cream, like hydrocortisone. you only need a tiny little dollop, and be sure not to apply it too close to the entrance of your vagina.

if you do get irritated skin, a cold washcloth helps with the pain and discomfort.

manspread. i'm not joking. it helps against friction.

2. once you pass the stubble phase, you're good for a while. just let her do her thing, and keep her clean.

3. when your bush gets to an inch and above, you might need to adjust some minor aspects of your routine.

if you have longer/larger inner labia, the surrounding hair will probably get trapped in all your crevices. it's not painful, per se, but can be uncomfortable if the hair gets tugged. if it bothers you, just trim that area down.

pubic hair, like all other hair on your body, needs to be washed. lather your beloved bush up with your soap of choice. be thorough with it, cause a full bush can be dense as hell.

speaking of hygiene, move your bush out of the way when you pee if you're weird about it like i am. you'll still get pee on it probably, but ... less pee. aye, that's what showering is for, right?

she does get unruly sometimes. just brush her out with your fingers and you'll have her lookin beautiful again.

feel free to trim your bush if she gets too long for your liking. aint nothin wrong with a hedge downstairs. i recommend just getting a pair of cheap scissors to keep in your bathroom for maintenance.
