Lydia stood outside of Derek’s loft apartment leaning back against the metal door. She’d gotten back from the doctor’s office about twenty-five minutes ago and when Derek wasn’t at her apartment she decided to come wait for him at his place. She stared down at the dirty floor, emotions all over the place. The test results at the doctors office had come back negative. Lydia wasn’t pregnant.

She was glad...honest she was. This was no life for a child at least not now when things were so dangerous and people were constantly trying to kill them. And yet the overwhelming disappointment currently filling her practically radiated off her in waves. It was stupid. She was eighteen, she had her entire life ahead of her and a baby would have been a terrible wrench in her plans.

Besides how could you possibly miss something that was never there to begin with? But while she’d been sitting in the doctors office waiting to be called in she started thinking that being tied to Derek for the rest of her life wouldn’t be such a bad thing. And any kid that they made would be gorgeous and probably pretty powerful. It would make them a family, something Lydia didn’t like to admit she wanted. But she did. She hated the gnawing at her gut. 

You can do that. Probably her beating him back home being all upset. Maybe she waits outside his door on the stairs by his loft and he walks up them to see her?

Derek pressed a hard kiss to the top of her head...
