Prisoner, as you can guess, is not exceptionally religious- he takes a utilitarian model of religion and generally maintains the stance that people believe whatever they choose to believe because it is convenient or beneficial to them. He definitely doesn’t believe there’s any ‘other side’, not jus because he can’t get there, but that he doesn’t like the idea of hoping things will be better once you surrender all control. He’s not someone who’d obstinately deny deities’ existence in the absence of hard evidence but he’s not about to believe in any kind of unquestioned authority.
