One might expect that the Burning Wall in Eastern Thanalan was recently named after the massive crystalline shapes that appear to burn throughout the night. However, the name may be as old in lore and legend as the Royal Allagan Sunway. There appear to be fragments of Allagan technology exposed by the crystals, or perhaps they are fragments of the fallen moon Dalamud.
The view from the High Bridge is majestic. The views from within the Wall itself are breathtaking.
It is fitting that the Warden’s mark appears at the Burning Wall. Azeyma, Keeper of the Sun, graces this place of fire and water.

Near The Burning Wall in Thanalan.
When I proclaimed to Lelia that I really liked Thanalan, and was likely going to commit to their faction (The Immortal Flames), he insisted that I see The Burning Wall. When we arrived, it was raining and nighttime, but we were able to wait out the rain and I got to see this really pretty night sky. Apparently the main story quest never brings you here, which is sort of unfortunate because it really is a well designed area. And pretty interesting too. Apparently the glowing parts are shards from the moon that crashed into the planet during the calamity event? Anyways, we stayed until dawn and I took some pics.

Dark descended the Burning Wall to get corrupted crystal for some mad scientific scheme. I couldn’t stop taking pictures; Dalamud left quite the impressive mark. Dangerous, but also beautiful.
