Madness
In a hidden cave, far removed from casual passersby, a rosy sylvari paces. Slumbering in the center of the room, serenely silent, lies the Snake, the Lady. Radhana’s pink gaze flickers to her every dozen or so steps, the expression of agitation softening to something akin to adoration but for a brief moment. She pauses, the final step cracking the stone beneath her foot. Adoration melts into rage, the very room heating noticably. “Why don’t you wake -UP-?!” Radhana screams, throwing a ball of flame at the nearest wall. “All I have done, all I have given, and you don’t even know I’m here! Command, that monster, brings you gifts that you know nothing of! Where is Ataraxy? Hm?! FuCK!” The handmaiden stomps the ground, sending a small tremor through the rock.
In another cave, captives cry out in alarm. Such shaking of stone heralds nothing good for them. Gifts, almost all of them brought by a unkillable beast, a monster in black and green, they hang from solid rock manacles, toes barely touching the ground. A tiny form appears, near silent amongst the ruckus, her head down. Several of the sylvari scream, unable to control themselves. Radhana looks up, her fuschia pink eyes ablaze with uncontrolled anger. “Eenie meenie, minee moe. Which sylvari has to go? This one, that one, I really don’t know.” She grins, adding to the unhinged aura around her. “You.” She points at a tall female, twig-thin and gangling. “You’re going to play a game with me, sister. You lose, I kill you. You win...maybe you get to go free.” A collective groan, relief, or sympathy, sounds around them. The chosen victim, desperate as she is, gapes. “F-free?” “Oh yes,” Radhana replies, “Free to run to your natural death.”
Sunset of that day sees a rosy sylvari, impeccably dressed as the handmaiden she is, crouched at the mouth of the cavern. Golden sap runs rivers down the slight incline, splattered over the walls and ceiling. Of the captive, the only evidence is a dismembered arm. “Oh, My Lady. When will you notice me? I’m just as strong..” She sighs, rising to clean up the mess. “I am ever your faithful servant, Lady Snake.”
