I know right? The way she left was super sudden, and I’m not totally sure if she was aware that so many people would be so confused or upset. She just hit a wall and needed to take action immediately. Without going into too much detail, she’s going through some pretty serious stuff irl that she had to take care of, so I totally understand why she did what she did. But I also understand that it would have been nice to have a little warning.

Even as someone who was in regular contact with her she sent me several DMs before deleting Twitter, but it was at almost 2am for me so I didn’t see the notifications until the next morning. But by that time she had already deleted Twitter so I wasn’t able to read the entire messages bc they didn’t send in our chat, just showed up in the notifications.

As far as deleting the story goes? She felt so much pressure from that specifically. She tried staying off AO3 and ignoring the notifications and stuff, but I think knowing that they were still there was too difficult. So the best course of action was to delete it altogether so as not to have it hanging over her. It also probably helped a lot because, despite there being so many supportive readers, there are always those who will beg for or even demand more writing. And that is incredibly stressful even for those of us who aren’t going through issues. Putting that kind of pressure on someone doesn’t usually help the creative process, though I’m sure there are those who thrive on it, but especially not for someone who’s got their own shit going on.
