Yes, I’m posing in a pair of undies! Bum Huggers by not-for-profit Great Full no less. Doing this was way outside my comfort zone but it is for a great cause – creating awareness and funds to fight bowel cancer. 100% of the profits from these NZ-made organic cotton undies go to Bowel Cancer New Zealand. This is a cause very close to my heart as I lost my beautiful Mum to bowel cancer. The tragedy is that bowel cancer is extremely preventable if you have early and regular checks. I now have regular colonoscopies – every two-three years. On my first colonoscopy they found 2 polyps which they removed and tests showed they were benign. Left unchecked, polyps can become cancerous in the bowel so it is important to have them removed as a preventative measure. The crazy thing is you of course have no idea that they are there unless you get checked. So thank you @greatfullnz for allowing me the opportunity to add my voice to this campaign. I also love that each of the underwear styles feature art by leading New Zealand artists. Here I’m proudly wearing the ‘Cool Cat’ design by @floxnz and my Good magazine T-shirt. Flox and Good are great collaborators. To shop or read my interview with Great Full head to greatfull.co.nz And thank you photographer @carolynisabelhaslett for making me feel so at ease on the day.
