Why is it that fanfiction writers always have Starfire refer to a baby as a "bumgorf"? Was that a word she used in the original comics to describe them as such? Because if not, then there is no reason for this to be the case. Starfire only referred to Silkie as bumgorf, and it sounded to me like a term of endearment, not as a translation of "baby". It is more likely something that a Tamaranian would call a beloved pet or something cute. I find it unlikely that she would be pregnant and say that she's having a bumgorf. She might call it that, like, "how is my little bumgorf doing today?", like a term of endearment, not referring to it as such because a bumgorf is literally an infant lifeform.
