Common Eastern Bumblebee (Bombus impatiens) in Pinery Provincial Park, May 2017. Bumblebee queens spend the winter in sheltered locations and emerge in mid-April or early May to begin new colonies. They build these nests underground, usually in abandoned Chipmunk or Mouse burrows.
