Well just because I stick to derek's canon age doesn't mean I can't acknowledge that Kate is a fucking nightmare :') I just prefer to look deeper into characters the show insists we should see with one dimension. I like to find other sides like for example the amount chris and Allison love her --- has to be for a reason. Gotta mean there's SOMETHING good in there. It's that hidden side that intrigues me. Same with Victoria.
sure, that's the crux of the horror of it, i think - kate can make funny voices for bedtime stories and give good piggyback rides and be fun to hang out with and risk her life to protect her family and be the only person who was honest with allison, and still do a thing like burn a houseful of kids alive. victoria can be a good mom who packs lunches and makes cookies and reigns in her husband's temper and teaches her daughter to be strong, and still try to kill a 16yo. they're fully realized people/characters and still manage to do unforgivable things, which to a fully realized peson like, say, chris or allison, is really scary, because it leaves them wondering where a switch in tripped that someone can just DO something like that, and will they wind up like that too? are kate and victoria good people who did a few bad things or bad people who did a few good things? there's no real good answer, but exploring it is fun as hell
