short answer: pikeman is a fucked up weirdo

long answer: if we’re sticking with my ws backstory (which is also canon to petrol’s and pikeman’s blogs) snake joined AFTER the horrible Fire event burned their organization’s reputation to the ground (haha fire jokes)

pikeman became patrol leader during this time. it permanently scarred him and is a reason why he’s such a god awful leader. Snake was his newest recruit, and well. it was a Learning Experience for the both of them. Snake and pikeman clashed over EVERYTHING, and snake couldn’t learn respect so. pikeman forced him to. 

snake earned all of his badges in record time because he was often forced in borderline life threatening conditions so he had to be the best of the best, or risk getting injured. that’s not even counting detention periods for being a little smart mouth. (Which, is glorified solitary confinement or menial labor.)

It was an emotional aspect too. Snake found something bigger than himself, something he could directly contribute to. He has his honor with the woodscouts, he doesn’t need anything else. As much as he has deep seated, harbored hatred for being forced to become something he never wanted to be.

a rude awakening for the wielder. the shift between waking and dreaming does not come naturally to me. i am an anomaly, peeking into places i do not belong to uncover secrets that were so desperately hidden. i do not belong in the dreams i see but i see them anyway. to be kicked out, to awaken, is expected. however rudely, it is deserved.

what often does surprise me is who is there to greet me when i do awake. whether they are a rescuer, a servant, a daughter, or the ghosts that linger this place, i seem to have a knack for company upon my return. why, i cannot say, though i’ve desired an answer for quite some time now. i suspect i will not know it, not unless i were to find a way to ask. so the one that stands before me now, who welcomes me awake, is just as much perplexing as the rest.
