A new design
Day 157 - 21/02/2021 (Guadalajara)
On Sunday, F had to go to the studio to do some work. I went with him and used the time to re-work the house design. And.... I figured it out.
I first still played around with the idea of only having one floor. I even pondered if instead of having two rental units, I would only have one but with 2 bedrooms. In the end I came to the conclusion that financially, having 2 separate units would make more sense.
So, after a while I went back to a 2-story building but with one apartment only occupying downstairs and one upstairs. (Reminder: the very initial house design was also 2-stories but each apartment would have a downstairs and an upstairs). I had two versions for the upstairs apartment. One where you’d come up the stairs and enter through the terrace and one where you’d have the kitchen first and then the terrace on the left, adjacent to the bedroom.
Overall I was pretty happy with it and confident that it can work. Of course I’d only know once I’d be back in Lo De Marcos and would be able to check the measures and make sure no trees are in the way this time ;-) I was a little bummed that I’d have to do 2 floors again since it obviously means that the view from my terrace is looking at a 2 story building... but in the end I need money to come in from somewhere and I think with a little greenery I can make my terrace still feel nice.
