Hello all! I am offically holding a weapons build MOC contest to my fellow builders! Anyone with a supply of lego can enter, and there are three prizes for the three final winners at the end of the whole contest. The number of rounds and the rules will be adjusted according to the total number of participants for this contest, but let me lay some ground rules:
1.) This is a pure build contest! All weapons submitted will be unmodified offical lego parts. Any and all modded or painted parts will result in points taken away at my discretion. Parts from other brands will also deduct points, however if the overall look from the off brand or modded part impresses me enough, the rule can be overlooked. So do it right, or don't do it at all.
This contest is to help create new content, therefore previously posted weapons will also be frowned upon, and a point will be deducted in Build for submitting in this contest. Please only submit a previously built weapon as a last resort, and if it fits the catagory perfectly, while keeping that point deduction in mind.
2.) You will be judged by a point system. On a scale from 1 to 5, I will look for three factors. Build, Presentations, and Story are the things I will be looking for while judging each entry. I will look for parts usage and how well the weapon is made for Build, Presentation is how well the weapon is displayed in photos, and how well you give a Story for each weapon submission, which gives a brief tale of what lead to the creation of your weapon, is the last thing I look for.
15 points total per round is how you win each round of the contest, participants are knocked out of the contest when they score the lowest out of each round.
3.) Each round of the contest will last a week, I will give you seven days per round to build and submit each submission. If you can not make the deadline, I will make no exceptions, and you will have to be knocked out of the contest. Each round will begin on Monday at 12am, and end on Sunday at 11:59. That is 0:00 hours to 23:59 hours military time. Results of each round will be posted on the next monday, along with the fallowing round's theme.
The time zone that I will fallow is US Eastern Standard time.
4.) There will be a minimum of two pictures posting each of your weapon submissions. One will be the weapon by it's self, the second of it being weilded. Any additional pictures will be up to you, with a maximum of five pictures to show your weapon. These can be uses for different angles, or to show a function the weapon may have, that is up to you.
Those are the current rules, keep an eye out for updates as the contest comes under way.
To offically enter, post a picture of your self moc or a moc that will represent as your fighter for this contest, for they will be modeling each weapon you submit. Put "@painoflego ready to fight!" in the text of your posted picture to enter into this contest. The last day to enter will be this sunday at 23:59 hours, or 11:59 pm.
Good luck to you all, and may the best weapon crafter WIN!
