bugtober day 31: metamorphosis
i don’t care that this is insanely late, this has been an idea i’ve had for a long time that i realized the prompt fit so i really wanted to put it to paper. life however had different plans and did a lot to delay this, and i did want it to have color as well, but at this point id rather just post what i have, move on to other projects, and potentially come back to it later.
as for the piece itself, as a trans girl who likes bugs i’ve been using metamorphosis as a metaphor for my life these past few years, which i know is sort of common but it stays applicable nonetheless. the wings are specifically those of Glover’s Silk Moth, which i guess is now symbolic of me, due to deciding to get a tattoo of one specifically for this very same symbology (along with a magnolia branch, to symbolize my friend who is very dear to me and helped me through a lot of my life’s trials <3). i am very proud of how the wings turned out, and have really been enjoying drawing insect wings to this level of detail.
to end this off, i’m very happy with everything i did last month. even if i missed probably about half of the days, i made a lot more art in a shorter period of time than i have in a while, so i’m pretty proud of what i was able to do. big shoutout to @spiderdungeons for the prompt list, along with a thank you to them for getting me out of my art funk ^-^
