I'll simply link to the posts here, and also point out that if your villain's main flaw is ""greed"" when you also made him Jewish-coded, then it's time to stop and rethink it for a little bit.
For the record, I'm personally uncomfortable as a goyim to say these implications were intentional. It's not my place to make a judgment on LB's true intentions *at all*, but I do think this is one of the many, many instances in this series where stuff should have been thought through a lot more.

If you could change anything in the show, what would you change?
Hm, ya know, I think I would have condensed Near and Mello into one character, and then used the extra room to explore the Wammy House as an institution - using it and this Near-Mello hybrid to demonstrate a parallel to Light that was raised with less outside moral influence. And, I know that L’s mystery is part of his charm, but I’d also delve A LITTLE into his backstory and, ya know, mirror the flaws that lead to Light’s downfall in how a younger L reacted to things. Idk! I think the show works as is, but those are changes I think would make me like the story more.

What is/are your favorite song(s) atm?
i’ve been playing the new Weeknd album a lot in the car (particularly the song “Save Your Tears”) plus the album Little Dark Age by MGMT (title track and the songs “Michael,” and “James” are my go-tos. I’ve also been re-immersing myself in Vampire Weekend bc ... god i love that band a lot. The song “Unbelievers” has always been one I return to as a favorite.

i’ve always been partial to the lyrics from the song “Burnin’ for You” by Blue Oyster Cult - which is stealth my favorite song. The first lyric that gets me is always “I’m livin’ for givin’ the devil his due,” bc 1) saw someone use it on a hannigram picture before and like yeah but also 2) living just to rlly fuck someone else over is one of those emotions that just rlly smacks me in the right way. but the real lyric that marks it as my favorite song is “Time everlasting, time to play B-sides.” I always love that line bc, like, this song is such an apocalypse end-of-the-world fuck-it-we’ll-do-it-live sort of vibe and this line is basically like this is the time to go deeper than surface level. its not time to just play the radio hits. its the end of the fucking world, dude, so play the B-sides. you might not get a chance to again soon.

The first time I read the series my mind caught on the opening line ‘there were dragons when I was a boy’ and that one could extrapolate that to mean ‘and by the time I write these memoirs there aren’t any more’ and oh boy that you’re also asking that and I’m so excited for you to find out

Like that first line gave me chills and I was already feeling emotional despite not yet knowing what was coming :') I spammed my partner more about it at the time, but it had felt so ominous, almost? A clue at what is to come but not nearly enough to prepare you. And the juxtaposition of that line infused with a sort of tragedy and the lighter vibes of the earlier books was Very effective at building the suspense and the questions around it and the clue that there was More there. Zbxbd I just- love that line so much. And I'm so excited to find out too?? I still don't know yet and I'm very nervous 👀
