Another good Bughead ep, we. are. LIVING! In this jam-packed episode, Maria and Sofia cheer on an investigative Betty and freak out when she discovers that Donna has been the mastermind of Stonewall Prep all along. We have a lot of fun with the three-part Jughead vs. Bret duel, including a ton of Chilton vs. Stonewall Gilmore Girls parallels inspired by that fencing bout. As expected, we have a LOT of reactions to Archie’s latest absurd fight scene(s) and we thoroughly enjoy wonderful friendship moments with Cheryl, Fangs, Toni, and Kevin, and Veronica and the introduction of Katy Keene!

Inspired by Betty Cooper and a still she saw of Katy Keene in a plaid jumper, Sofia wears a cream mockneck shirt with a plaid jumper dress over it. Similarly for baby V’s big NYC trip, Maria wears a blue velvet bodysuit with a large, Veronica-esque bow with her pink cord skirt in honor of Betty investigating at Stonewall and hopefully finding some answers!

Bodies are dropping, y’all! Along with Maria’s guest Jeff (her partner/B4B’s producer), we talk FP’s inconsistencies about what his childhood was like with Grandpa FP as Jughead discovers a Baxter Brothers revelation that threatens Stonewall Prep’s rep and may connect to the flash-forwards; are horrified by Cheryl’s family continuing to be more shitty every time we learn something new; and cheer on both Veronica on as she stands up to her murderous family and Archie as he tries to do the honorable thing, saving kids from being trapped in Dodger’s particular portion of the cycle of poverty. We discuss Bughead Season 2 parallels and are generally in awe of how adorable and communicative an investigative duo they got to be in this episode. Jeff thought Chic’s name was 'Chip' this whole time — and of course, we shriek and talk about all the things we learn about the Charles-Chic connection!

Oh, and finally, we make a lot of jokes about how DuPont is a Jeffrey Epstein-level-scary-wealthy-man because like...after this wild ride of an episode in which Mr. Chipping straight up YEETS himself out the window most likely under Evil DuPont duress...this dude has to AT LEAST be in Epstein’s little black book, right?

Jeff wore his real-life prep school Rutgers Prep athletics sweater in honor of Stonewall Prep & a Behr paint hat as slight nods to El Royale, while Maria wore her bodysuit with a newspaper-clipping design all over it & a Betty-like black cord skirt, because Betty and Jughead are both on their own investigations.

Once upon a time, Maria and guest Hailey watched a lot of One Tree Hill together, so we had to gush about Chad Michael Murray’s first full episode of Riverdale appearing as Edgar Evernever! We cheer on woke!Archie speaking truth to power to get his friends out of prison, talk about how we don’t want Jughead and the rest of the Serpents to be cops like, at ALL, and sympathize with poor Veronica dealing with the most teenage thing of this entire episode as she copes with her parents’ divorce. In addition to having lots of reactions to the dark and dramatic drug raid scene, we muse about how many different forces of evil are preying on the vulnerable in this town - from Cheryl getting charmed into the Farm to Mad Dog having to accept Elio’s offer to shield his family from Gladys’ drug trade to the ever-looming threat of the still-present Gargoyle King that attacked Baby Teeth! Things are wild, but hey, at least we get some hot pillow talk from our favorite detective power couple to keep us fed.

Maria and guest Hailey decided to go matchy-matchy with their looks in honor of learning more about the cult via yummy snack Edgar Evernever: white lace bodysuit for Maria and white turtleneck for Hailey, and red skirts in honor of Cheryl infiltrating the Farm!

I’m very excited about this episode because it looks like Betty and Jughead are gonna be sharing a plotline for the first time in..to me, it’s been forever.

We hype up Josie and Archie as they put on impressive performances on the stage and in the ring, and tell some of our own raised-Catholic memories in light of Alice’s horrifying Farm baptism!
