a day in the life ! i always have a difficult time explaining, even though i've quite literally talked about it for hours. you just have to feel it - and the music video and how it fits so perfectly,, it's magical, so magical. it makes me transport to another world entirely. there's been nothing quite like it at all and the feelings it makes me feel,,are indescribable. thanks john and paul for creating something so wonderful ♡
i love many of their songs, but i actually think i might have to agree with you, i think a day in the life is my favourite song of theirs too. i agree with your points so much!! to add to that, for me it’s also because it’s such a perfect balance of the two of them. it was a joined effort on their part, and you can feel they loved doing it. it has both of them in it somehow, in their respective parts, as well as the entirety of it in terms of music, but also the lyrics. it’s simultaneously cynical, retrospective, wistful, but also somewhat chipper and dreamy. it has so many qualities... not to mention the music is such a masterpiece, despite the chaos it’s seemingly drenched in, and both of them sing in this one, in a fashion true to the both of them.
