has a wide brim ‘gardening hat’ bc “Sun damage is a serious issue which calls for serious preventative measures.”

he bought you a matching one as well

has told you once or twice that he likes when you wear yours with him because it reminds him of his grandparents

THIS IS HIS WAY OF SAYING HE LIKES IMAGINING YOU TWO GROWING OLD TOGETHER

likes to garden with you because it’s relaxing and there’s no pressure to talk while you help him plant flowers

and since he knows he’s not the best at picking up on social cues he likes activities where y’all can just bask in each others presence

likes to be the one to transfer the plants from pot to earth because it’s the occasional moment where he can prove he can be soft

i head canon that he’s insecure in his stature when it’s outside of volley ball like he’s afraid he can’t be gentle, especially with little things bc he’s scared of breaking/hurting them

but he’s worked with plants so much it’s definitely improved

if you ask him about what plant he’s holding he always has at least 1 fact about it

gets upset at the bugs that pester his plants

will frown as he stares at a half devoured leaf

“Mmm, the bugs have started to eat Hana’s leaves again” :(

YOU CAN’T TELL ME THAT HE WOULDN’T NAME A PLANT AFTER YOU AND EVEN IF HE DENYS IT HE TENDS TO IT A TINY BIT MORE THAN THE OTHER PLANTS

if that plant ever died he would straight up cry

not like sobbing but like straight face with a couple tears

when y’all are done gardening for the day and go off to clean yourselves; he stands behind you at the sink, with your back to his chest, and washes your hands together

there’s just something about doing “mundane” things with you that make his heart go brrrr

i bet it would feel so good to get a nice, hot, wet mouth around it, tongue pressing against the head and sucking.
