Did you know that the Pink Snout Moth (Pachypodistes angulata) is an under-studied moth? Not much is known of these little cuties, other than that they're found in Ecuador, Colombia, and Peru. In many pictures they appear to only have 4 legs, instead of the usual 6, but the other 2 are often folded up.

Did you know that Neotrogla Curvata is a species of barklice found in Brazilian caves? These are a rare occurrence in which the sex organs are reversed, or that the female penetrates the male and absorb nutrients through his seminal fluid. These are very small insects, measuring about 3mm long, so they can survive on fewer resources in a cave environment.

Did you know that the Heavy-Bodied Jumper (Hyllus semicupreus) is a jumping spider found in India, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka? Like other spiders, the female is notably larger than the males. These diurnal hunters sometimes share a web sac. It'll be empty during the day and the male will come home during the night. Sometimes the female will come back as well that same night and they share the space. They'll hunt and eat any other small insect, but that's small compared to us and sometimes many times the size of the spider itself.

Did you know that Chan's Megastick (Phobaeticus chani) is one of the longest known stick insects? These long, skinny insects (one specimen is measured at 56.7cm long, front legs fully extended) are only known to be found in Borneo and was named after the local Malaysian naturalist that found it.

While it's not recommended to keep these sentient t̶w̶i̶n̶k̶s̶ twigs in a terrarium, just make sure you know how to care for them and give them the environment and enrichment that they need.

Did you know that the Ceanothus Silk Moth (Hyalophora euryalus) is found in the valleys between mountains from western Canada and south into Mexico? These are fairly large moths, with a wingspan of up to 127mm. The pupa of this moth is extremely cold resistant, being able to survive temperatures as low as -30⁰C.

Did you know that the Rosy Maple Moth (Dryocampa rubicunda) is the smallest of the great silk moths? Like all other known silk moths, the adults don't feed so the caterpillar has to eat a lot during development. As indicated by their name, their preferred host is maple trees. The caterpillars are social during development and in great enough numbers can work together to defoliate its host tree.
