A Simple Sword
So there I was, trying to recover my missing time from my last review, traveling abroad through the mountains of central Canada, when I found something completely unexpected. Something that cut me to my very core. A really sweet Sword!
It was just sitting there, very loosely wedged into a stone. I almost didn't want to disturb it, but I felt compelled by some unseen force, and who am I to argue with that? I am but a humble man after all. As I drew it from the (again very loose) stone, light rained down from the sky and I felt like a King Among Men.
Well I knew then and there I had to put it to use and so, following my instincts, I made my way back to town to find myself some Vassals. And on the way I got jumped! A group of young brigandines erupted from behind a hill and started menacing me. Well as Armed as I was, I wasn't about to just let them get the best of me! I drew my Blade and charged as they demanded my coin purse, and the look of shock on their faces as I struck them down was magnificent. Well... attempted to strike them down anyway, swung a little too much for the stars and ended up just spinning in circles a few times, like a Confident Whirlwind of Death.Ā
It worked though, the vagabonds were practically crying on the ground, begging for mercy. Well, part of being a good King, and a Confident one at that, is knowing you don't always need to crush your enemies. Instead I offered them positions as my Knights of Confidence. I was even willing to let them draw up some sweet banners for themselves. I've got to tell you, I was riding high on what felt like Destiny at this point. Truly this Blade was a thing of pureĀ Spirit, and I was looking forward to testing it more.
With my Knights galloping along behind me I finally made it to town. We went straight to the town hall, drew our Blades and ordered that they open the door, for their new king had arrived. They didn't of course, as at this point it was quite late at night but that wouldn't stop a Knight so I swung at the door with all my might. And that is when I realized my gravest error.
You see, this entire time I'd thought of the Sword and just a longer, lighter Axe. Turns out that couldn't be further from the truth, just because they both have edges doesn't mean they have the same uses. To my shame, I only concluded this after my Sword connected with the door, and shattered into pieces. Then, when I thought my confidence couldn't plummet further, my Knights abandoned me! Said I wasn't cool anymore if you can believe that... Well truth be told at the time I agreed with them. What kind of a Confidant just lets his confidence shatter like that. Everybody knows externalized confidence needs to be bulletproof.
Well thatās the end of it though my readers. Iāve got to say, the Sword has some incredible highs, but if anything should happen to it youāll suffer some horrendous lows. If you happen to come across one in the wild I would definitely recommend collecting it, but for the love of god and country donāt use it on anything solid!
Happy swinging Confidants, till next time!
