bio: ▻ you know how some people say ‘what you see is what you get?’ well that really is the case for bucky. he wears his heart on his sleeve, and his opinion across his forehead — not really knowing when he should stop speaking or why it’s inappropriate for him to be loudly asking the elderly woman beside him which condom brand she recommends (when questioned about it he shrugs and exclaims “i mean, if anyone’s got the experience, right? right?!”)

▻ what he has in boldness and confidence, he completely lacks in responsibility and decision-making skills. seriously. don’t ask him to make any decisions unless you want to see him stutter and scratch his head for about three hours. only to suddenly disappear without a trace.

▻ he’s lazy unless it’s a situation (or person) he genuinely cares about — and most of the time he’d rather just hang back with his own thoughts than walk with the crowd and engage in social interactions with the majority.

▻ he’s unpredictable, moody at the best of times, and actually more sensitive than people realise because he doesn’t often show when he’s hurt or in pain, choosing to smile or laugh through it instead, then wallow in what was said for hours on end afterwards when he’s alone.

▻ he’s pretty polarising — his behaviour and manner leaving a bad taste in some people’s mouths, but exciting and enticing others.

▻ when it comes to discussing things of a personal or serious matter, it’s like he forgets to speak. he can’t express his feelings about anything real without feeling awkward and pathetic — so don’t expect him to have any sort of heart-to-heart. he will however go out of his way to cheer someone up if he senses that something’s wrong, even if at times his attempts at humour are ill-timed. this is also why it’s impossible for bucky to tie down a relationship — his intentions miscommunicated and leaving him to the streets.

▻ there’s a lot of speculation about why this overgrown ghoul is the way that he is, and most conclude that it’s because he grew up wealthy. old money wealthy, actually — which surprises most people, because, well, he absolutely doesn’t act like it. truth is, while recognising his privilege, bucky’s rejected his upbringing and parents since they refused to acknowledge the fact that he was clearly not a functional person and definitely needed help. to this day, they don’t acknowledge that their only son bleaches his hair and has practically used his skin as a colouring book with vague instructions.

▻ the one request by his parents that he did accept was to attend oakmore college — mostly because it was an easy way for him to move to the other side of the country while maintaining access to his fortune and being able to pretty much do whatever he wants. because bucky is so wealthy (dynasty rich) and his family had attended the college for generations, despite his awful, barely-there grades, he was accepted. really, bucky is at oakmore for a good time and not much else — so definitely don’t come to him if you need a study buddy.
