Got Chapter 2 of my Buck/Severide fic up!
Two months had passed, and Buck still found himself in Chicago, now having taken a near permanent residency sleeping on Kellyâs couch - no longer sleeping at Caseyâs. How that had happened, no one was exactly sure, but so long as he had a bed (or couch) Buck wasnât complaining.Â
Buck still didnât have an actual job in the city beyond helping Casey out with whatever construction job he needed Buckâs limited skill set for, or going out with Kelly in his boat, which wasnât all that often right now considering the weather, but they had been a couple times now.Â
Honestly, Buck wasnât exactly sure why these guys, especially Kelly, were keeping him around. He and Shay never asked Buck for any money, not even asking for groceries. And whenever Buck offered some, both him and Shay would just refuse to accept it.Â

Some of the delay was due to parts being sold out and needing to wait for them. And Andy was still helping him for free, so again, he couldnât complain.Â
Now that the Jeep was fixed however, Buck was left not knowing where to go next. He was pretty sure the job that had been waiting for him in Iowa was long gone now, and he wasnât keen on going anywhere without any sort of plan.Â
So Buck supposed he had no real reason to leave right now. He liked the people here, and he supposed he had a job, even if it was kind of under the table. He was also pretty certain he wouldnât wind back sleeping inside his Jeep as long as he didnât piss Kelly or Shay off.Â
But at the same time, this living situation certainly couldnât be considered âpermanent.â He was sleeping on a couch that had his feet hanging off the edge and his head using the armrest for a pillow. He really needed to figure out how to fix this. But first things first-
