Bublup Puppet in Cage - Jim Henson Company 70th Anniversary Auction on Julien's Auctions, sold for $3,840 - Lot 153
"A creature known as a "Bublup," which is seen imprisoned in a cage in the Chamber of Life laboratory of skekTek the Scientist (performed by Olly Taylor and voiced by Mark Hamill) in the prequel series The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance (Netflix, 2019). The Bublup is seen in the third episode, "What Was Sundered and Undone," shaking the bars of its cage.
The body and hands of this Bublup puppet are cast silicone, with its arms and legs comprised of a resin mold. A hole is present at the back of the puppet's body with fastener components present. The Bublup had only one simple motion, which was to bounce up and down in its cage. The cage is custom-made of sticks and twigs tied and adhered together.
An identifying emblem for Jim Henson's Creature Shop is present on the front of the puppet's cage.
