Bubbles Log, Day 6 and 7 FULL DAYS ISH...
My apologies for no post yesterday, it was all go go go and by the end I just passed out.
It started with my aunt knocking on my door at 10 asking if I wanted to go to Victoria Island, which for those who don't know you need to take a ferry to get to. So in the span of a half an hour I got ready which is really good time for me. And we drive our way over to the ferry dock. We manage to get there early for the ferry and decided to get brunch. Which was quesadilla's which were amazingly good.
We finally get on the ferry and start to explore, which is pretty cool. I have pictures of me on said ferry with my hair deciding to act like Alfalfa because of the wind.
It was so much fun! >W< BC Ferries was a smooth ride, and it was pretty!! On the way there we saw seals!! Just chilling on a little island. It was fantastic, didn't see any whales, which was a shame. I really wanted to see a wild orca. Oh well!
So we dock and get off the boat, we drive into downtown Victoria where I saw cherry blossoms! They were so pretty. And this amazing little fountain area that had all the provinces' coat of arms, I have tons of photos which I will turn into a panorama when I get home. We go over to the parliment building which is gigantic and so beautiful. There was also this tree that had been there for 100 years, it was massive. There was no good way to get a photo of the whole thing. Unless you could stand in the water like a giant. Next up was the Empress Hotel that looks like a castle, it's super big too. Another panorama will be coming, I promise you all that.
Then we walk out into the harbour which had lots of newer boats, but a couple that could pass off as pirate ships. Those were my favourite. :3 I took photos of the boat, while my aunt took photos of me!
After that we continued up the walkway to check out some of the street vendors, where I was acting like a total tourist. (Which I was.) Taking photo's of as much as I possibly could. We reach one vendor that I just couldn't leave without buying something. He had these wonky paintings where he took shots of real locations and just totally warped them. They looked amazing! I ended up buying 2 prints for myself, and my aunt bought one for my other aunt back home. The two I got were of the Music Conservatory which is this awesome gothic looking church. Which to make things kinda cool I tried my best to replicate the photo he painted. The other one was of Craigdarroch Castle. Craigdarroch castle is bad ass, I didn't get to go inside because it cost quite a bit and we were on limited time, but my god just the outside was wicked. I ended up taking pictures all around the outside of the castle. It was just a spectacular sight to see. The Music Conservatory was a great building too, didn't go inside again but the stained glass and just the look of the building made taking photo's of the outside worth it. We ended up going twice to the Music Conservatory as I decided afterward to take photos like the paintings I had. I still was so happy with that decision.
Then we drove what felt like hours up to Parksville to go to the beach. Now my mission on this beach was to find sand dollars. As projecthalfbreed got it in my head and I felt I needed them with the amount of shells I've collected so far. I collected more shells, and I'm still not entirely sure how I'm getting them home, but I'll wing it. For a long while we were only finding live sand dollars. These little guys are so cool. They just burrow into the sand and get in these odd angles. Magically, we found a colony of sand dollars, where we found some dead ones! After finding the first one we just kept finding more and more, I ended up with a total of 7. Which after thinking I wouldn't get any I'm happy with. While at the beach we heard a seal, which was amazing as we tracked that bugger and watched him swimming around in the ocean looking for his buddy. I hope he found his buddy. We left before he found him.
The fun part was the drive back to the ferry. We used a closer ferry dock then the one we boarded, but were on a time crunch, I'm still not sure how we made the 8:15 pm ferry. My aunt is the best or luckiest driver in the world. We literally made it there at 8:00 JUST as they started boarding. We had a nice ferry ticket seller who let us on. Had dinner, came home and I promptly passed out which is why I didn't post yesterday.
Today was a lazier day, I woke up around 10, lazed until noon, then got up and ready to go out to Metropolis at Metrotown in Vancouver. We ran some errands, went back to Bates Motel where I used my good camera to take shots of that place again. I'll post them when I get home. I even have one of me in front of the fence blocking us from the set. There were other people there who were fans of the show, and we chatted a bit and gushed over Vera Farminga and Freddie Highmoore.
I met my cousins horse Sam who is just a sweetheart. He's 19 and just so full of love. He gave my aunt a hug. It was adorable.
Then it was off to the mall. Which is just as massive as before. The only difference is this time I actually bought stuff. I got some make up stuff from Sephora, which is my favourite place to shop at for make up and skin care now. Then went to Piggy Bank Place which is this little store packed with anime stuff. I got myself a Soul Eater travel mug, and a present for Mooch. I don't know if she reads this so I'll be good and not tell what it is until after she gets in on Thursday.
We got a pretzel which was divine, came home and made hippy pizza, which was good, except for the artichokes. I found I don't like those.
After dinner I got a tour of the outside of my aunts farm finally. It's amazing back there, I'm really hoping for good weather so I can go and take pictures of the entire thing. I could make my own short film out there it's that amazing.
Now I'll stop typing, if you read this far congratulations! You get a hero cookie.
Tomorrow's my last day before my flight Wednesday, I don't want to leave ;-;
