The fragrance swirls about Mr. Sinclaire’s chest, wafting in seductive Siren-esque tendrils to his nose. The allure of it, the suggestion, had him rather warm under the cravat and he draws a long shuddering inhale to calm his racing heart until his lungs feel ready to split.

Ernest Sinclaire expels the breath through his puckered lips, hoping that the lighting in the parlour is dark enough that no one can see the flush creeping like a slow growing ivy to his cheeks.
