Blaine knew he shouldn't have been so shocked. Not after the last few times. But to outright refuse anything this time? That wasn't his mother. It wasn't fair. Cooper got to go to the house and visit. Why couldn't he? Oh, that's right. He wasn't the favored child. Had he ever been? 

As far back as he could remember, Cooper always had to outshine him. Even when at fourteen years old, when Blaine told his parents he was gay because Cooper told them he was getting married Coop still got all the attention. At least the positive attention at that time. 

Blaine had gotten a lot of yelling. A lot of how he was a disappointment and how he wasn't allowed to let that be known to anyone else because "How would people react to knowing one of the Anderson's is a fag?" Blaine had rolled his eyes at the comment. No one was like that around here. Just his dad father. 

Blinking back tears after hanging up with his mom, remembering that night... it was hard. He missed her and really wished he could visit her. Especially today. Mother's day. As a child it was his favorite holiday. Instead of his mom spoiling him, he got to spoil her. He got to make her breakfast and serve it to her in bed and it taught him a lot  - like how not to burn toast.. or pancakes. And how to make coffee, something that Blaine would soon be glad to enjoy and make correctly. 

Nick smiled as he put his headphones on he was heading home for the weekend to see his mom for Mother's day but he hadn't told her that. He turned his MP3 player on settled in for the fight falling asleep shortly after. He woke up a few minutes before they landed and gathered his things.

Once he was through the check in and grabbed his bags he smiled when he saw his dad waiting for him. He walked up to him and gave him a hug "Hey dad" he said "Does she know?" he asked. His dad shook his head. "Nope she thinks I ran to the store" he said smiling. 

Nick laughed and grabbed his bags following his Dad out to the car. They talked on the ride home and Mr. Duval asked Nick how he liked his job and living in the city. To which Nick replied he really enjoyed it but missed being home. 

When they pulled in the drive Nick left his things in the car for the time being and snuck in the house looking for his mom. He found her with her back to him doing dishes in the kitchen he smiled and walked up behind her covering her eyes and said "Guess who".

Mrs. Duval dropped the bowl she had been washing "Nicky!?" she gasped and threw her arms around him when he uncovered her eyes. "Happy Mother's Day Mama I'm home all weekend" he said smiling.
