the thing i love about wishverse!buffy is that sheâs literally buffy except she doesnât have the scooby gang and joyce doesnât support her??? and thatâs just so very similar to who faith is in s3?? theyâre still different of course, bc they Are different people, but they donât have anyone, they hate their parents, so itâs all about the fight because what else is there?? so i just really love the idea of willow reaching into that universe again and somehow wishverse!buffy ending up in the main timeline circa s7 and faith is So Shook bc itâs Buffy, itâs her buffy, but it isnât???? and she just has this intense need to help her bc 1. sheâs faith lehane and she helps young girls, thatâs her Thing and 2. buffy was there for her when she was a fuck up, she owes her that, so faith and wishverse!buffy just kind of become a team and they travel from hellmouth to hellmouth kicking demon ass and getting into a lot of fights along the way bc theyâre both So Difficult but it works for them bc they get each other and theyâre not alone anymore and thatâs all that matters tbh
16. Which character do you wish was developed more?
I would probably say Tara. I wish the writers had done more with her. I donât think she was underdeveloped in any way, but I think if they had broke her out of her bubble sooner, and had her evolve with the rest of the group as a part of the group, then weâd have gotten a chance to see more aspects of the character. I really liked that moment when she was supporting Buffy through her âcrisisâ and she was just such a great supporting character and - knowing what happens to her at the end of Season 6 - it would have been great to have more of her, and see what other dynamics she could have formed and grown within outside of just Willow :)Â
re your last reblog i think they meant "reptile boy" in s2 with the horrible penis demon, "fear itself" in s4 with the little fear demon and "where the wild things are" in s4 with the creepy little sex poltergeists
Ay, you're probably right. I was already thinking of Reptile Boy and Fear Itself, and I was considering the sex poltergeist, but technically it wasn't a demon and wasn't really summoned, and it was as much on Buffy as Riley so the bro vibes are also lessened... but fine, I'll stop the hair splitting, it kinda works đ
"#god i wish s7 could've kept up this level of character building#maybe then it wouldn't be at the bottom of my btvs seasons list whoops" honestly, this. also bringing so many potentials in was their other mistake.
Yup, definitely! They failed to develop any of them individually on a significant level, which made it really hard to care about them... but also, the whole season was much more focused on its plot elements (of which the Potentials were obviously involved with a lot) than other seasons imo, and that left the character stuff all the more wobbly and unsatisfying.
I actually really like the first 7 episodes (other than Him, rip that ep), Selfless in particular is a good example of the kind of potential the season couldâve had for Buffy, Willow and Anyaâs characters... but then the plot started to happen, and while Buffyâs character arc didnât come out of nowhere, it needed more work and was completely undercut by the Spike stuff, Willowâs whole deal was half-assed at best, and Anya was absolutely done dirty.
Many episodes are enjoyable in a vacuum (somewhat ironically, Iâm a big fan of Potential, and Dawnâs arc in the season is actually pretty solid, if not all that complex), but imo s7 fails as a whole, and is only lifted up by its competent series finale.

buffy rewatch s2: im kinda ambigious about spike, you know, like im mostly just frustrated when fans prioritize him over his actual victims, but almost everyone on this show is irreparably flawed, and im excited to re-explore his arc and character and all the interesting--
buffy rewatch s7: *pouring wine into a christmas mug* fuck spike actually
A Buffy rewatch 7x22 Chosen
aka power to the masses
We did it, guys! We made it to the last season! The last episode! Also, hello if youâre new, and stumbled upon this without context. As usual, these impromptu text posts are the product of my fevered mind as I rant about the episode I just watched for an hour (okay, sometimes perhaps two). Anything goes!
And todayâs mood is drinking port wine while re-watching the Buffy series finale. Itâs a good combo.
A Buffy rewatch 6x22 Grave
aka doesnât matter i still love you
Welcome to this dailyish (weekly? bi-weekly?) text post series where I will rewatch an episode of Buffy and go on an impromptu rant about it for an hour. Is it about one hyperspecific thing or twenty observations? 10 or 3k words? You donât know! I donât know!!! In this house we donât know things.
And todayâs episode is easily the most unconventional season finale of the show (excluding Restless, which is more of a bonus episode). Buffy doesnât defeat the Big Bad. Or... does she?
