[Given the room was as full as it was, made the fact that he felt lonely seemed a little too poetically pathetic for his liking. He’d had a spat with the boys the day before. Not about anything big, not about anything that would be particularly important this time next week but enough to mean that the three young men weren’t currently on speaking terms. He could see them from where he was standing. So he watched on like a moody child, sipped from his third glass of wine (that he’d been drinking purely out of boredom over anything else) and scowled. Maybe at the wines ability to be offensively acidic even in it’s watered down state, or maybe at his two friends who were rudely and selfishly leaving him out. 

Clayton tutted, spun on his heel with the intention of moving elsewhere, away from them. But he span round almost clumsily and hadn’t taken note of the man who was for whatever reason standing close behind him. They very nearly collided. He very nearly wore the wine left in his glass. Clayton swallowed, glanced up.] Oh shit..that was close.

[It was Alex, a man who’s shoulders and thick corded arms made too much saliva pool under his tongue. It was embarrassing but he pulled a reaction from Clayton, one that he didn’t feel was all that becoming. So he stood a little straighter, did something with his arms to suggest nonchalance, sipped his wine.] Oh hiya. Nice in here right? {He pretend to give a shit, looked around and nodded] can’t say I care for art but it’s a nice touch. Nice.
