With a lot of the things that Louis’ team does and makes Louis do, it’s like they want us to forget the other knowledge that we have of him from over the years - like how kind and diplomatic he’s always been about fans in audio and video (since tweets and print Louis seem to be a different person), how well he knows his fanbase (what will get us buying, and what pisses us off), and just how smart he is with the industry in general. I mean, we know that Louis is the one who pushed hardest at the higher ups because he KNEW that One Direction needed to get out of the bubblegum pop, typical boyband music in order to have a lasting career, we know that he thinks carefully about the music he puts out and is always considering what fans have already heard and what they want to hear and what they can relate to, we know that he lurks the fandom and pays attention to what’s being said by his fans on social media - yet they expect us to believe that he thinks the smartest way to sell his single is to talk endlessly about his non-famous girlfriend and child, answer questions that get his bandmates or the non-famous girlfriend headlines, and alienate a large portion of his fanbase. I’d have to forget everything else I know to be true about Louis to believe that he would want to pursue his solo career this way. Even in an AU where he and Harry aren’t together and babygate and Elounor are real, the decisions being made are foolish business decisions and don’t mesh with who Louis has proven himself to be on multiple occasions. It just doesn’t add up.

Every single thing Louis does, he pays a price for. Every single thing.

Honestly, the best thing to do is to not give it much attention. Adding a lot of comments means giving it a lot of hits (which benefits Pink News and the person who wrote it) and starting a twitter trend means giving people the opportunity to find out about the article who would never have heard of it otherwise. My recommendations would be to express your frustration and sadness on Tumblr, tweet Louis some nice things about how you love him, give hits to positive articles about him, and help get Louis up on the charts with BTY.

Yeah, it’s disgusting, and the stark contrast between the two of them only makes it worse.

And like……………..of course this is what would happen?? Larry makes dumb headlines every few months even WITHOUT the boys addressing it?? Yet people actually think Louis, who by now has a wealth of knowledge and experience with the music industry (what sells and what doesn’t), the media (what sensational headlines they choose), and his fanbase (what we want to see from him and what turns us off), would CHOOSE to talk about things that redirect public and fan attention from his music to something else….and not just something else, but something that supposedly hasn’t been relevant since 2012 and that shouldn’t even NEED to be addressed if we’re to believe that Louis has a child with a woman, Louis has a girlfriend, Harry is still #1 Womanizer, they run in different crowds, and they’re total opposites in every way. If we’re just crazy fans, they could just let us be crazy fans in our little “Larry organization,” rubbing our hands together and coming up with absurd conspiracies. Instead, they’ve managed to successfully shine a spotlight on Larry yet again for the general public, and in doing so, they’ve largely left Louis’ song in the dark.
