Boat Trip In Brunei - Proboscis Monkeys, Crocodiles and the Water Village
Flew into Bandar Seri Begawan the capital of Brunei Darussalam which is a small country on the island of Borneo.Â
It's known for its beaches and biodiverse rainforest, much of it protected within reserves. I took a trip in a boat and came across lizards, crocodiles and the famous Proboscis monkeys before seeing the largest Water Village in the world.Â
The capital's massive Istana Nurul Iman palace is the residence of Brunei’s ruling sultan. It was a good time and there is plenty to do for a few days and you can walk around most of it although it is very hot. Taxis are nearly non existent so this was a issue.Â
Brunei is an Islamic nation and is very strict and there is no alcohol or bars in Brunei.Â
The Sultan of Brunei is known for lavish spending: the Sultan reportedly owns more than 600 Rolls-Royces, and his residence — Istana Nurul Iman, the world's largest palace — cost over $350 million.Â
