Pitchers, Catchers Report - Reunion

Opening Day - Rookies perspective, fears and jitters, new beginning

First Win

First Loss

Mentoring - Struggling rookie/player, taking the time to help

Clubhouse - Moment within, dealing with loss of a teammate, feeling like you don't belong, etc

Skipper - Interaction with the manager, yelled at/talked to, maybe more intimate if you're into that

Slump - Pitchers ERA, hitters can't hit, someone's got the yips

Batterymates - Relationship between pitcher/catcher, deterioration or improvement

Hit-by-pitch - Injured specifically by a pitch, the moments in between

Rivals - Game between bitter rivals, two rival players get traded to the same team, etc.

Charging the mound - Tensions are high, bad season/rival game, make 'em fight

Airmail - Player costs the game because of a mistake, aftermath of a mistake

Team-bonding - Some sort of sporting event (not baseball), bars, at a teammate's house, etc

All Star Break

Trade Deadline - New Acquires or Goodbyes

Fitting In - Difficulty settling into a new team, can't get along with new team, etc

Health - Mental health issues

Demoted - Starter to bullpen, position player to backup, player to AAA, DFA'd

Cheating - Doctoring the ball, sticky stuff, maybe personal infidelity

Reporting - The media's not being too kind to team/player

Veterans - Retiring, HOF ceremony, meeting again after how many years

Post-Game - Player says something he shouldn't

Family - Starting one, a moment with their own, missing theirs

Waived - Player considers waving NTC to move to a (better) team, maybe DFA'd without knowing it was gonna happen, claimed by a worse team

Regular Season - End of year reflection, devastation, guilt, blame

Playoffs - Eliminated, NLCS/ALCS Champions, WS Winners or Losers

The stadium demands a sacrifice.

Willson hovered. Nolan couldn’t bring himself to look—he was already sick to his stomach, the overwhelming choking-nausea of defeat settling into his gut. They weren’t below .500 yet, but they were slowly sliding in that direction, unable to stop themselves.

The stadium was angry. The grounds itself was angry, hungry for meat and flesh and blood.

Nolan picked at a hangnail. Blood sprouted red and angry along his finger, tiny droplets falling to the hard clubhouse floor.
