How do I download Youtube videos?
Okay so this is being asked a lot about the Youtube Situation and I want to clear this up.

There are two main ways I know of to do this:
Use a website specifically designed with the goal of downloading videos from sites that don't allow it.
Use an extension or application that fills the same role the sites do as listed in the previous point. (I recommend this option)

I prefer to use the extension/application option because that's way cleaner and convenient.
But two website options that I used to use regularly were:

And you can find more by simply looking up "Youtube Video Downloader".
Now, it should be mentioned with these sorts of sites. Exercise caution with websites like these. I haven't had an issue with the sites I linked downloading malware of some kind onto my computer, but you should still be aware that there could be malicious virus sites posing as video downloaders.
Also, it's just really time-consuming when you're copy-pasting links while going back and forth between sites. I genuinely recommend getting an extension/application.
For apps, the only one I use is:
Video Download Helper
It automatically detects videos you can download on a site, and allows you to download them. Although, this is done with the video you have opened on the tab, it doesn't do this with anything besides that. You may need to install an extra application onto your computer to make it work. I don't know if this is a linux thing, but that's what I had to do in my experience.
The most important thing about this extension and app is that it's free, and its GitHub is open so you can see the code for it to verify that it's safe.
Only complaint so far is that it is a little finicky and requires page refreshing or force detection so that it can pick up the video to download. But overall, it's fine and reliable.
If you can't find the video you downloaded, click on the little folder icon for it, and it should take you to the folder it was sent to.
