Edith Wharton: Do you love someone with every fiber of your being but respect them too much to touch them?
Okay I don’t totally know what this means :))) but fundamentally no. If I knew they didn’t want me to touch them then I wouldn’t but that wouldn’t be out of respect (except for their feelings). I’m a pretty touchy person. If I love you, I’m going to hug you/put my arm around you while we’re talking. (Honestly sometimes I have to remember that not everyone wants me to do that or to grab their arm when I get excited.)
Leo Tolstoy: Do you feel honor-bound to betray aspects of your formally bleak and morally corrupt life?
If I had a morally corrupt life, people would definitely know about it but that’s more because I can’t keep a secret.
George R.R. Martin: Would you rather marry for wealth/power or murder for it?
Definitely marry for it. But I would probably lose interest in the wealth/power and then would be like “let’s actually fall in love”. And they would be like uhhhhhhhhhhhh
Jane Austen: What social faux-pas annoys you the most?
I dislike it when complete strangers just start asking a ton of personal questions as a means of getting to know you. I get that we’ve established this as successful social interaction and I love getting to know people but no one is owed an explanation of why I chose my major/current life goal/job within ten seconds of meeting me.
“What are you going to do with that degree?” DUDE. I just met you. That’s a completely unfair question for you to ask.Â
Again though, this is a societal problem and I’m rarely mad at the person asking me this (if that makes sense) because they’re just doing what everybody does to them.
