Roland flew gracefully across the ground and slammed into the older boy.

“I’m back!”

Roland's voice was muffled behind the door to the mayor's office.  Three little knocks followed.

"Ms. Dearmond!"

Mowgli called out flatly.  He'd been wandering around, missing his lunch period, trying to find her, and he'd finally found her, and she kept walking away.

"Ms. Dearmond, wait! I want to talk to you."

Mowgli quickly caught up with the slightly older woman, and brushed his floppy hair out of his face.  He was too old to be in her grade, in fact he was three years ahead of anyone she was supposed to be teaching, he inhaled to make his point.

Roland turns to ‘sing’ at the imaginary Aladdin, but instead finds Emma’s kneecaps, and he freezes… the movie continues to play in the background as he looks up at Emma.

" - NEVER HAD A FRIEND LIKE ME!"

Roland Jazz hands through his embarrassment, he wasn’t embarrassed that he’d been caught singing, no, he was embarrassed that he didn’t know the words properly.

"Whoobedoo.  I wanna be like Youuoooh-ooh, I wanna walk like you, talk like you, be like -"

Roland stopped singing when he heard Henry chuckle.  Roland’s face flushes for a second, and he jumps about to face the older boy.

"Dun’ laugh!  I like that song!  I know which song yooooooou like."

Roland points and sings loudly in Henry’s direction.

Roland looks around the police station with his large eyes scanning the walls, he was waiting for Ms. Emma to be done with a phone call, he had something important to ask her.  His poppa had gotten him a plastic sheriff badge the other day from one of the shops on the road and Roland decided quite liked the idea of saving the day and stopping bad guys.  He sees Emma walk out of her office and he waves his arms.

"Princess Emma!  Princess Emma!"

He rushes over to her and stands at her feet, putting his neck at almost a 90 degree angle to look at her face.

"C'n I come help you stop bad guys t'day?"
