Ruin seemed to finally understand, that this ice bird wasn’t pledged to the Ice King or his kingdom. Just an elemental who flocked to those of his kind, and Ruin could understand that, it was only natural. Therefore it seemed, Snowflake was not the true enemy here and Calcifer had no need to go after him, even if the ice bird was friends with the Ice King.

Maybe in the future when the ice kingdom had fallen he would hunt the elemental down just as he would hunt down all the islanders, but until then, there was no need to waste energy. There was no need for a fight.

“Then I have no quarrel with you, if even you do offer that king assistance... And do not pity me. I do not need it...”

Quill had been sitting in the sand, staring at the water and the reflecting stars, hoping to give his back and hands a bit of a break from all his working. It was then that he had spotted someone walking along the sand, definitely not the strangest creature he had ever seen, but it had made him curious.

He gave a thoughtful nod as he listened to the other speak, idly poking at the sand beside his leg as he did so.

“I don’t blame you. That volcano doesn’t look to friendly...”

He shook his head as he glanced upward in the direction of the volcano, the red eyes of his helmet seemed to match the glowing lava in the distance. Quill then looked back at.. Snowflake.. as he introduced himself.

“Amnesia huh? Sounds rough pal... They call me Star Lord where I’m from. A lot of people know my name through out the galaxy~ But since you have amnesia, I’ll forgive the fact that you won’t know me.”

He chuckles as he stands up, dusting the sand off his pants and then slowly rolls his shoulders.

“Oh? Is that so?”

Now that got his attention. Was there really no other creatures who possessed ice powers? Did the ice king really have no army? Perhaps wiping him out would be easier this time around, if this icy pest wasn’t mistaken or lying.

Ruin found his interest drawn to Snowflake’s words once again, though he was also mildly confused. Surely this ice creature couldn’t be serious.

“Where have you been the last thousands of years? The fire kingdom and ice kingdom have always been at war, your kind always so intent on wiping us out. That’s what you do right? Choke out anything that doesn’t fit in your perfect ice world.”

He spat out at the ice bird, his flames increasing in temperature once again. Oh how he wanted to just wrap his hands around the other’s throat and choke the life from him. But alas, he was not permitted to. It was most infuriating...

Fiery eyes gazed down at the creature of ice and feathers, there was no doubt to which kingdom this one belonged to. Seemingly on instinct, the flames within his armor burned a few degrees hotter. A warning.

“I am called Ruin for many reasons, and I am different I suppose. I doubt there is anything like me out there…”

His gaze had drifted for a moment, but then a glare settled on the ice creature before him.

“But I know for a fact there are many like you. I wonder how long it would take for me to melt you into a puddle?~”
