At first I was all like "hahah, another brony rap song. This will be hilarious!"

And then it turned out to be... Really good! The guys voice grew on me through out the song, the beat and music is awesome and the lyrics are very well composed!

Alright guys, time for an opinion. 

This song is. . . not that bad. That's not my issue.

My issue is the the fact that this song got it's own featured post on EqD, with hundreds of mindless fanboys comparing MandoPony to Eminem, or even Cats or Mic for that matter.

This song is not that bad.

And that's all it is. It's a singer's mediocre attempt at rap, and it sounds like such. Heck, I'm surprised the guy didn't rhyme "magic" with "tragic." (Actually he might have, I didn't bother to check.)

Now, understand that usually I try my best not to be an elitist when it comes to rap. When I see an aspiring rapper gaining popularity, that is, in my opinion, undeserved, I don't say anything, because I know that person needs the popularity to develop and improve. However, there will be no improvement here. MandoPony will get away with writing another half-assed song that thousands of people will love, and all the undeserved praise will make him think that this is okay.

It is not.

There are so many musicians making songs more deserving of popularity than this song, and they will go completely undiscovered because they aren't MandoPony. It's not because their songs worse, it's simply that when they submit their song to EqD, the username under the youtube video doesn't read "MandoPony," and their song gets shoved to the side like thousands of other great songs before it. These musicians are producing better content than MandoPony, but since they aren't getting the features instead, he will see no reason to improve. 

The point I'm trying to make is, I don't personally hate this song, it's just a perfect example of what I want to talk about. I hate the undeserved popularity it has garnered, and more importantly, the lack or popularity on other, better songs. This applies to all songs by "famous brony musicians." As much as I despise that term, I use it to refer to those who already have their popularity, and no longer feel the need to improve. I'm not talking about those who strive to get better, and if I saw that from MandoPony, I wouldn't be posting about this song right now.
