So in canonverse Loki said that he only wants Thor to see him as an equal.

Since all of fandom agrees that Loki has always been in Thor's shadow and is getting tried of it. And Loki thinks this all happened because of Thor's ignorance, and just Thor being stupid, that he's been keeping Loki in his shadow.

I thought, what if Thor was doing that on purpose? Not the Loki-in-Thor's-shadow part. But just the fact that despite how many friends Thor has that he claims he trust or how many people said they would die for him, the only person that Thor really trust enough to let them stand behind him and watch his back is his only brother, Loki. That Loki's the only one that would never betray him and stab him in the back. And that's why Loki has always been in Thor's shadow. Because Thor doesn't trust anyone enough to have them watch out for him and he trust Loki and only Loki. So no matter what where and when, Thor would always make sure that Loki's standing behind him and watching out for him. And of course Thor would think that he's doing Loki a favor too, since he'll be watching out for Loki too. Unfortunately, because of that, Loki felt like he's always in Thor's shadow.

So while Thor had always thought of Loki as his equal and even trust him enough to have him watch his back, Loki thought that he's always in Thor's shadow. 

Conclusion: These bros have communication problems. They need to just sit and talk for one day. Just talk
