3: Do you outline according to big ideas or small details?I...don’t really outline at all...I guess if I do have any kind of outline it’s more big picture stuff? Like general plot and character stuff. The problem with that is that characters will randomly say/do things I didn’t expect them to and things go off the rails pretty quickly.
5:Do you write better with or without deadlines?Mmm...I’m not sure. I think with deadlines because then I have a specific time I have to have something done by, so I’ll make myself work on it. If I don’t have a deadline then I just let my writing mosey along whenever I feel like it (see: WCPL’s accidental 9 month hiatus)
6:What would be the biggest compliment you could hope to receive on your current WIP?That anyone wants to read it at all honestly
9:What do you struggle most with as a writer?Self-confidence mostly. There’s a lot I don’t like about my work but I make myself keep trucking anyway because dammit no one else is going to write this self-indulgent Lantern Corps AU Piccolo/Tien fic so it might as well be me!
17:Do you make soundtracks for each story?Nah. I once tried to make one for the Lantern Corps AU but I basically put the Spectrum Song from Walt Disney’s Wonderful World of Color in it and called it a day.
26:What would you like to see more of in your genre?Shipfics are a genre now? I guess I’d like to see more lifting characters up without beating other characters down. You know exactly which characters I’m talking about.
29:Do you tend to underwrite or overwrite in a first draft?No first drafts we die like men
30:Does writing calm you down or stress you out?Depends? If I’m stuck then it’s stressful, but there are a lot of times where it’s cathartic. That one chapter of WCPL where Krillin, Yamcha, and Tien were all hanging around complaining about shitty patrons was extremely cathartic. But yeah if I’m writing about something stressful I get a little stressed. And if I’m writing a sex scene I get MEGA stressed.

37:What’s one piece of advice you would give to new writers?Write what you know, it’s true, but if you don’t know something there’s no reason to not find it out. Research is fun! Hello yes I’m a librarian
