Colette Gibelin est née en 1936 à Casablanca (Maroc), où elle a passé son enfance.

Elle vit actuellement près de Brignolles, dans le Var, où elle a été professeur de lettres.

Elle a fait le choix d’une poésie lyrique, traversée de préoccupations…
