Yesterday I took down my long-exposure pinhole cameras at Brighton station, including my first 3-camera 360° experiment. Winter solstice tomorrow. I’ll be scanning them soon. Feeling hopeful of some great results. Reworked collage version 2 with some more ephemera from ebay including a 1959 postcard saying that Brighton “is entirely different from any holiday place we have been to”, a London Brighton & South Coast railway stamp and a cigarette card of the the football player Paul Mooney who signed to Brighton & Hove Albion in 1925,  and over eleven years with the club made 315 senior appearances.

First draft of my Brighton Rock collage. It uses photos (35mm and Medium format) I took around Brighton, plus those tram tickets I sourced. At the start of the book Graham Greene describes the crowds descending from the trains and taking the trams down Queens Road. Pinkie has made an appearance in a window which by chance has the words ‘Blacken your soul’ and Black heart’ which couldn't be more apt. I have quote from Rose (name also slotted into the collage by the window) about being like a stick of Brighton Rock down the left hand side. After living with this for a few days I have made notes and changes for the next iteration.

Meanwhile the October weather in Brighton allowed for me to pop out at lunchtime and take analogue photos and experiment with some cross-processing, the carousel is the digital exception here...
