Prompt #54
It was a draw.
Villain threw magic with as much force as possible, shuttering pavement and noticing the sparks coming from the lampposts nearby.
"Can you just- stay-still-" they growled with each strike.
But Hero didn't. Instead they had a smile which became brighter each time they dodged an attack. They managed to rescue citizens on a daily basis, but now Villain got to see them in battle. Fierce, determined, the moment their eyes met absolutely charged.
Hero sidestepped then, completely on instinct, and avoided a lightning bolt which crashed into the wall behind them. Hero's jaw met the floor.
"You're so good at this!"
"Shut up!"
Another violent smash of magic that met pavement, only for Hero to harmlessly fly above it. They honest to God giggled.
This wasn't meant to happen. Villain should have wiped the floor with this imbecile, not have them smile and radiate sunshine with each dodge. Not them acting as if this was fun, as if Villain was someone to admire, to befriend, not them being so- so--
"Can you stop being so damn adorable?!" Villain screamed.
The fire ceased, with a shocked Hero freezing on the spot.
