Liara: They would have kind of a nerd/jock dynamic which IS cute, but I would almost certainly leave her for an ME2 LI.

Kaidan: Honestly probably one of the more, if not the most, healthy long-term choice, although it would surely give Kaidan some grey hairs lucky for me I find that hot. It does leave the question of what would attract her to him in the first place. Also I am still tempted to have Ashley be the VS again. It’s hard enough to not romance her again, and I NEVER do that...they would get along so well, though.

Garrus: He was the one I originally had in mind for her. There’s still a touch of that nerd/jock dynamic, and they’d have battle synergy with him being long range, and her being close range. I guess something that hold me back is my general disenchantment with Garrus/Sh@karian.

Miranda: Very much an Opposites Attract dynamic...possibly too far in that territory for my comfort. Admittedly I’ve come to like Miranda a lot more, but I’m still not...quite there with her yet. Maybe the romance will help? Idk.

Earthborn/War Hero

Vanguard; basically fights like a Slugger/Brawler type boxer. Lacks finesse (both combat and with words) but hits real hard, real fast.

The Reds would stage fights, which is how she spent most of her time. One of the older members mentored her and taught her boxing. Then when her biotics manifested she became the Main Attraction.

I don’t have a Tragic Event Horizon yet, but she was probably very cocky with it, until someone get real hurt. That or it became apparent that if she could not “perform” and get them money, they would abandon her.

Paragon, but is blunt, aggressive.

Not so much optimistic in that she tells herself, insists things will work out fine, no one will die, she will save everyone, because there’s that sliver of her that’s convinced she’s one bad day away from losing everything again.

Raphel’s asari instructor: It’s all about patience, control. It’s not a foe for you to beat, but a partner.

The catch is their personalities are still largely in tact, it's just the nature of the persona that changes.

Raph was still a sensitive, creative young man, and he still had the magnanimous older brother who wanted to join the Alliance. So when he died, he assumed the role, as a way of honoring him. He trained in biotics by asari; he is control, he is the shield, he protects his people. He is still intense, introverted, but on the field, he becomes the hero. He becomes the kind of man he thinks his brother would have been.
