On 10 June 1692, Bridget Bishop was hanged for witchcraft.

The way I need another prequel to A discovery of witches is because we have Tituba as Emily's ancestor and Bridget Bishop as Rebecca's.
Salem witch hunts? - more like tearing apart a secret lesbian couple apart only for their descendants to find each other.
Also, more on African American witches, because that would be very interesting to see how the traditions that we see Emily practise may stem from old rituals held by her ancestors before they were kidnapped and adapted.
Bridget Bishop (c. 1632 – 10 June 1692) was the first person executed for witchcraft during the Salem witch trials in 1692. Nineteen were hanged, and one, Giles Corey, was pressed to death. Altogether, about 200 people were tried.

In 1692, 14 women and 6 men were accused of being witches, were tried, convicted, and executed. Executions took place on June 10, July 19, August 19, September 19 and September 22, 1692. To this day, the events of 1692 are used as a yardstick to measure the depth of civility and due process in our society.c

1692 - 1st victim of the Salem witch trials, Bridget Bishop, is hanged for witchcraft in the colony of Massachusetts (pictured)
