last night in the emergency room a nurse in one pod started changing the nurses/docs nicknames in our patient tracker system to superheroes and people in the other pods caught on so by the morning the head docs where the HULK and Catwoman, followed by senior residents Batman and Deadpool with an army of residents who were all Avengers characters and the nurses were the X-Men like what a team up

my relationship with this website is so... weird to think about. it was really such a godsend in the early 2010′s as safe place to express myself away from my parents and a suffocating high school environment. without exaggerating it transformed my world view and shaped a lot of my politics (and honestly for the better). in 2014 i met my boyfriend of (going on) FIVE YEARS on here!!!!!!! i have to admit, this site ABSOLUTELY changed my life.

i left for a couple of years in college because I needed to focus on school, but i was looking forward to returning for my fandoms with a lot of exciting series/movies coming out, reconnecting with people, and using it as a creative space again but with the way things are looking it just won’t ever be the same...

anyway i’m just conflicted about whether or not i want to back up my blog with 45,000 posts because i have this urge to preserve it? or just let it vanish into internet oblivion when the time comes. either way, it’s been a privilege blogging with you all.

okay true story my coworker was bitten by a patient halfway through report and she had to get admitted as a patient for exposure before i finished getting my handoff from her!! fun times in ER nursing

indulge me for a sec i just want to tell you all i had a six yr old as my patient in the ER the other day and (of course) i wear a wonder woman ID badge. whenever i get kids they LOVE IT and it gives us something to talk about/makes the hospital a little less scary. when he noticed it he got really excited and was rambling about swords and “eagle horses” like YOU’RE REALLY CUTE BUT I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT YOU’RE SAYING. it threw me for a sec but i realized later he confused the winged W logo with VALKYRIE but i melted like yes little buddy bisexual warrior icon solidarity!!!!!!!!!!
