everyone thinks they know a thing or two about vulnerability. waylon can cop to believing the same, but the truth is you don’t know much at all until every basic creature comfort has been stripped from you, torn outright from a white knuckled grip.       he’s naked, shaking, and very literally backed into a corner. he has little hope, and nothing to fasten a false sense of security onto. dying on the job feels like a fear turned inevitability. 

              ‘ eddie. darling. you fucking asshole.        i don’t know if you’re capable of feeling guilt anymore, but i’d like you to know : if i’d had the means to get you out of the engine i would’ve. i don’t give a single shit about you right now, but i can guarantee everyone else in this place cares even less.
