Good bonding in the brickwork is crucial for ensuring the structural stability and strength of the construction structure. Learn about the s
The brickwork bond is the way in which various types of bricks have been laid out to form things including walls, paths or floors. The brickwork bonding is also used for the mansory construction and the concrete blocks. In the brickwork, brick has been placed on their side, laid flat or stood up in a row. The brick bond refers to the pattern that is made by bricks. Lots of patterns made of bricks are available which look different from each other and have their own strength while building a wall.
In the brickwork, bricks have been laid to an offset pattern which helps to maintain an adequate lap among the joints from one course to the next as well as it helps to ensure that the vertical joints have been not positioned above one another on the consecutive courses. The bonding in the brickwork helps to distribute the load of the building structure evenly over a large area.
Rules for making good brickwork bonding
To achieve good bonding in the brickwork, several rules need to be followed, which are as follows:
➢ Each brick size which is going to be used in the brickwork should be the same. As a result, the bricks can be fitted evenly and the length of the bricks should be twice their width. In the case of the lap is different, a good brick bond can’t be made. ➢ In the brickwork, the overlap should be ¼ of the brick along with the length of the wall and ½ across the width. ➢ There is no need for the brickbats unless the builder is told to use them in certain places. ➢ The vertical joints should be the same on the vertical axis in each course. ➢ It also needs to avoid the raked joints and other types of joints which create a horizontal water table during the brickwork. In the brickwork, the joints should be concave and worn down.
Different types of brickwork bonding
There are different types of bonding in the brickwork which helps to make the wall stronger and good looking. These types of brickwork bonding are as follows:
Stretcher Bond
This is the most typical laid bond which is one of the time and cost-effective ways of laying the brickwork. In this type of brickwork bonding, the pattern has been laid along with the stretcher course that sits halfway over the joint of the course.

Man. I miss roleplaying so much. I got really into it in the covid lockdowns, for like. You know. Interaction. But it turned into escapism, and a reliance. Made a pot of friends. But people moved on, I grew more distant with others, had a few falling outs. Now that place is a ghost server.
I want to roleplay, but finding another place feels.. wrong? Im not sure how.
Man. Im lonely as hell

Differences
Wall tiles are used in walls and floor tiles are used in floors. Wall tiles are glazed tiles and are used for decoration purposes.
Floor tiles should have a minimum level of friction to walk on safely. This minimum level of friction is called the Coefficient of friction or COF. on the other hand wall tiles should be made as slick as glass.
PEI rating stands for porcelain enamel institute. This rating defines hardness and flexibility.
COF of floor tiles is 0.50 or greater than that and COF of wall tiles can be any rating. PEI rating of floor tiles is 3 to 5 and PEI rating of wall tiles can be any rating.
Ceramic and porcelain based wall tiles are good resistant against water. On the other hand wall tiles are thinner than floor tiles. Wall tiles are also less resistant against water.
The glazed which is used in tiles are also different for wall and floor tiles.
Tiles can be made of clay and different types of glaze.
Floor tiles can be used in walls but wall tiles can not be installed on the floor.
Durability and maintenance of wall tiles
Thickness of wall tiles is thinner than floor tiles. Wall tiles should not be used in floors for less thickness. If wall tiles are used in floor tiles then it can be cracked due to foot pressure. This type of wall tiles are very flexible and very easy to maintain.
This type of floor tiles generally stronger than wall tiles and it is suitable for either floor or wall installation.
Class 0 is not suitable for foot pressure so it can be installed on walls only.
Class i is suitable for very light pressure because this can be scratched very easily.
Class ii is suitable for wall tiles.
Class iii are suitable to moderate the traffic.
Class iv is suitable for both commercial and residential buildings.
