Noooo, not Baek IJin, he's been through enough!
I like how the brick throwing posts are choice memes that nobody is talking about. They don't need the glory and attention like the loud, obnoxious 'horse pinko's and 'ebby deeby's of the world. Brick posts are quiet, deliberate queens, unsung heroes that give and give but ask for nothing in return.
The Xbox upgrade we didn't expect!
WHY ARE THERE BRICKS EVERYWHERE WHERE DID THIS COME FROM

hi! for the meme, how about 1, 5, 6, 8, 12, 13, 14, 18, 20 and 25? thank you very much! (also thank you for spreading some Irma Boissy love around the fandom, she's the best)
1: how did you discover the brick?
In middle school I started getting really into musical theatre, and it soon became clear to me that Les Miserables was very important and famous and something that fans of the genre should be familiar with. But, being a pretentious little shit, I was likeĀ āI MUST READ THE BOOK FIRST~.ā So I got a copy (Iām pretty sure it was abridged, though alas I canāt actually remember which version it was now) and started reading and⦠struggled. So I got the VHS of the 10th Anniversary Concert to bribe myself to finish. I told myself that Iād only watch as far as I readā¦. and then realized that that was about halfway through the first number. So I watched the whole thing, obviously, and then did finish that abridged version. I read the full version a couple of years later, I think near the end of high school.Ā
5: three favorite characters
Answered! (But since itās relevant⦠Iām so happy people are loving the Irma love. Thank you so much!!)Ā
6: three least favorite characters
More than three, but I have never found the Patron-Minette hugely interestingā they do their thing and I think theyāre important, but I donāt care about them enough to write about them, for example.
8: one character you would bring back to life
Daddy Pontmercy. Poor Marius needs some help.
12: three brick otps
Marius/Cosette, Enjolras/patria, Joly/Lesgle/Musichetta (duh).
13: three brick notps
Valjean/Javert, Eponine/Montparnasse portrayed as happy and romantic (sorry), creepy implied Valjean/Cosette (go away Gerard Depardieu).Ā
14: a random headcanon from the brick
Marius gradually becomes more political, and he and Cosette are involved in some genteel way in the events of 1848.Ā
18: a favorite quote
The entirety of Combeferreās character description brings me immense joy.
20: hugoās puns: hot or not?
So hot they are physically painful.
25: which do you prefer: the novel, the musical, or another adaptation?
THIS IS HARD. I tend to think of the novel and the musical as almost entirely different things, honestly: theyāre telling basically the same story, but they obviously have entirely different thematic and stylistic concerns. I donāt really bother to compare them. And there arenāt any other adaptations I particularly care for.Ā
5-7, 14,15!:D
5: three favorite characters
THIS IS HARDER THAN I WAS EXPECTING but BOSSUET OBVIOUSLY, Cosette, and Gavroche.Ā
6: three least favorite characters
In terms of them just being horrible people: Tholomyes and the Thenardiers. (I have Th-name prejudice, apparently.)
7: favorite character who didnāt make it into the musical
I mean honestly, I sort of count all the amis as not making it into the musical? So given that, I would have absolutely loved to have Courfeyrac-with-a-personality there to be the foil to Mariusās seriousness in the way Grantaire is to Enjolras.Ā
14: a random headcanon from the brick
Since youāve forced us all to think about their TRAGIC LITTLE LIVES: Navet finds and adopts the momes.
15: favorite scene
Ā More of a series of scenes, but: Mariusās derpy courtship told from Cosetteās point of view.Ā
1, 5, 8, 18 and 19! (^ ^)
1: how did you discover the brick?
Almost seven years ago I was in a production of the student edition, and before rehearsals started, I picked up an abridged of the brick in hopes of better understanding the story. I abandoned it pretty quickly though, when I couldnāt get into it after the first thirty pages or so. After the show I picked it up again and fell in love. :)
5: three favorite characters
Oh man, my favorite character list usually canāt be narrowed down to less then six, but for the sake of this question, probably Combeferre, Feuilly, and Joly. :) Honorable mentions go to Lāaigle, Grantaire, and Cosette.
8: one character you would bring back to life
Am I allowed to say everyone? No? :( I would rather like to bring Feuilly back to life, though thereās really no way to make this painless. :(
18: a favorite quote
"Civil war? What does that mean? Is there any foreign war? Isnāt every war fought between men, between brothers?"
19: funniest moment
