Shannon Wright live in Houston, 2001. Brian Teasley (Man Or Astroman?, Polyphonic Spree)  plays drums. Its pretty good. i forgot how good.

“Out of all the music I've been a part of in my life, playing with Shannon Wright was by far the most intense thing I have ever done for so many reasons. It's a dragon that I'll always be chasing to get back to something so unhinged and free-formed. We never knew where a show would go and there never was a set list or often even definitive song structures. I think it was a little unnerving for audiences at times, but I felt like I was floating outside of my body on some shows. Shannon is by far my favorite musician. She never has ever been appreciated to the fullest (or even close to that), but so many bands were awesome to us and I am so thankful for people who helped us early on like Steve and Shellac, The Dirty Three, Low, Sleater Kinney, Calexico, Quasi, The Rachels, Nick Cave, Crooked Fingers, Black Heart Procession, the folks of Touch and Go Records and Tom Windish. This video doesn't really capture what I'm talking about, but there's almost no footage out there of us playing together. This show was at Rudyard's in Houston. We played for about 15 people opening for a cover band called the Houston Oilers. I remember the singer of that band playing air guitar on a floppy, empty guitar gig bag whenever he wasn't singing. These were trying but very pure times. I miss those moments trapped somewhere in time, so distant but so ever-familiar.”
